Who we are

AstroAsk (astroask.net) is a free Vedic astrology and numerology platform run by Sachin Sharma. For any privacy question or request, email admin@astroask.net.

What information we collect

If you create a free account: your name, email address, a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself), and your course progress and test scores. That is all an account holds.

When you use a free tool (Kundli, Numerology calculators, Kundli Matching, AI Astrology, horoscopes): the birth date, time and place — or name and number — that you enter are used in your browser session to compute your result and are not saved to our servers. Close the page and they are gone.

We do not collect your location, browsing history, contacts, or any sensitive personal data beyond what you choose to type into a form.

Cookies we use

AstroAsk uses one strictly necessary cookie at all times, plus analytics cookies that are set only if you accept:

The session cookie is signed and HttpOnly (it cannot be read by JavaScript) and is sent over HTTPS only. The analytics cookies are not set unless you consent — decline, and Google Analytics never loads. We store your cookie choice locally in your browser (not in a cookie) so the banner does not reappear, and you can change it any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

We use no advertising cookies, no Facebook Pixel, and no cross-site ad tracking.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use AstroAsk — which pages are popular, roughly how many people visit, and which features help. IP addresses are anonymised and we have not enabled any advertising or data-sharing features. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or opt out globally with Google’s browser opt-out add-on. Google’s handling of this data is governed by its Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

To display our typography we load fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving the font files. With your consent we also load Google Analytics (above). We use no other third-party scripts, embeds or trackers. All astrological calculations run on our own servers — nothing is sent to outside astrology APIs.

How we use your data

Account data is used only to let you log in, save your place in a course, and show your dashboard. We never sell, rent or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We will only disclose information if legally compelled to do so.

Security

Passwords are hashed with a strong, salted algorithm (scrypt) — they are never stored or visible in plain text, not even to us. The site is served over HTTPS, and the session cookie is HttpOnly and Secure in production.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. Just email admin@astroask.net from your registered address and we will action it promptly. You may use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to review your cookie choice whenever you like.

Children

AstroAsk is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce features that use additional cookies or data, we will update this page and refresh the consent banner before doing so. Material changes will be dated at the top of this policy.
